My son started taking this class last summer. He is on the high end of the autism spectrum and had been in an abusive family when we got him. He was too scared to sleep by himself and would have nightmares. Because he is on the autism spectrum, he would let out squeals and would have a hard time concentrating in class. I would try to stay and watch the class, but all he would do was say "I love you mom, I love you mom." It was cute, but he was unable to concentrate. Sadly I was unable to stay and watch. Well, guess who gets to now stay and watch? Guess who now has the confidence to sleep by himself?George has worked with him - this man is the child whisperer!! I would definitely recommend this class for kids that do not have the confidence that they need. To show them that they can be the best they can be! George also teaches them to show respect, this is very hard to come by these days. You teach it at home, but most places just let it slide. George and Diane, his wife, make a wonderful team. Sign your child up and see the difference it will make, you will be impressed.

My son has been taking Tae Kwon Do classes for over 2 years and he cant wait to get to the next class. The instructor is very informative, makes class interesting and has such a passion for teaching tae kwon do. My son has learned life skills that he will be able to benefit from for the rest of his life. I would highly recommend Middle Tennessee Tae Kwon Do.

Our 5 year old son has been a student at MTTKD for 7 months. Being one of the youngest and smallest students, he has been pushed just enough and has excelled. Master Lloyd creates a fun environment while teaching traditional Tae Kwon do forms, history of Tae Kwon do, self defense, and core exercising just to name a few. I love that Master Lloyd is not only forming the students as athletes, but also as well rounded individuals. He checks in often with the parents to make sure the child's behavior is acceptable along with also requiring teachers to sign off before they can move up in rank. The value for our son participating goes far beyond just the fighting techniques. Our son's respect for others, not only for adults but for older kids and his self confidence has grown. After watching my child participate for 7 months, I felt comfortable enough to join the MTTKD family. As a female I personally enjoy the focus on self defense and personal safety in a judgement free environment. I highly recommend MTTKD for literally everyone.

My 5 y/o son joined MTTKD last November and he has not looked back since. The martial arts training, character building, and team work mentality is nothing but positive. I strongly recommend that parents look into the classes and experience the level of strong values that Master Lloyd encourages.

Master Lloyd is an AWESOME instructor! My son enjoys Middle TN Tae Kwon Do for the fun, structure & discipline classes, for the friends he’s made through it and we love it because of the life skills he is learning. Great for self-confidence, respect and personal protection, he really has benefited the two years he has been in by reaching new belt ranks.

This testimonial is from one of our students:

"Why I am taking Taekwondo and how it has helped me so far.

I was in my second grade of school and the teacher handed out a flyer about taking Middle Tennessee Taekwondo. So I went home and told my parents I would like to try it out.  I went to the school and met the instructor.  I tried out three classes and decided it was something I wanted to do.  It's challenging, but fun.

It has helped me in many different ways.  One thing is it has taught me is to be respectful.  It has given me focus, determination, and confidence.  It has helped me to become stronger and in good shape.

I have overcome my shyness and do better at school.  I have become part of a team.  I have become part of a family with the other TKD students.

It has helped me set goals for myself.  The main one is to become a black belt and higher.  It has given me good ethics to use everywhere I go.  I have really enjoyed taking TKD classes.
